Licinus was the son of Isaac and Susan (Jordan) Shiflett. See their chart. George L. m. 4 Dec. 1888 Albemarle Co., Susan Alice Madison, b. 28 Nov 1866, d. 27 Sep. 1948, d/o William B. and Mary J. Madison.
Family #68 above is probably Susan A. Snow, second wife and widow of Merry (Murry) Augustin Shiflett, who was the son of Ahas (b. 1809, d. Oct 1879, son of Murry and Icy Shiflett) and Gincy (b. 1811 Orange Co., d/o Overton and Sarah Shiflet) Shiflett. Ahas and Gincey had the following children: Albert Michie b. 1836; Haza b. 1838; Jane b. 1840; Murry Augustine b. 1841; William Smith b. 1843; Henry H. b. 1845; William H. b. 1848; Ahas Wyatt b. 1850; Overton b. 1851; Icy b. 1853.
Merry Augustin Shiflett m. 1) 24 Mar 1867 Greene Co.; S. Elizabeth Morris (b. 1843, d. May 1885 Greene Co., d/o Joseph & Polly Morris). Issue: Elijah D. b. 1868; Monroe b. 1871; Ella F. b. 1874; Hasten S. b. 1876; Unnamed male, b. 1881; Unnamed male b. 1884.
