Dear Va and Cecil
I will write you all a letter to let you hear from me. I am getting along fine and hope you are the same. I was shipped from Camp Lee Saturday eve at 4 oclock and got here at Camp Wheeler Georgia at 5 oclock Sunday eve. We came through North Carolinia first and then South Carolinia and most all the way through Georgia we an’t so far from Alamba.

All I saw in North and South Carolinia was big cotton fields.

Atlanta Georgia was the pretties place we came through. We was on a Pullman car it had beds up and to the seats alose and made beds out of them. That was one time I sure did like to ride the train. I was setting at a window that was up and plenty of air and could see every thing. The funny thing in the army it ant but two size in clothes. They are too big and too small. They gave me size 10 ½ shoes and size 44 work pants and cut all of your hair off. make you look like a clown. ha ha.

Well I like the army fine so far It is about twice as hot down here as it is in Virginia. I got a card from Pauline while I was at Camp Lee. I wrote Pauline a letter yesterday and --------- today.

Tell Roberta and Fountain I said hello and kiss Shirly, Nancy and Donald for me. and give them my address or send me their address. I guess Cecial is working every day. I haven’t got no pass to go out no where yet.  we ant done so much marching yet, we will start our basic training Monday. I guess Mama is worring now. It ant no use worring. I don’t worry. Mama and Papa both cried when I told them good by. but I didn’t cry. I don’t know no boys down here. Two boys that came from Chattoliville is down here with me I begain to know them very well

I guess we will soon be going on the 28 mile hikes. I will be glad of it. Well guess I will close since it is bed time. the lights goes out at 9.PM and we don’t have to get up until 6 oclock.

I will close with love to both
