    . . . between John Shiflet and Joice Shiflet his Wife of Albemarle County of the one part and Henry Carter aforesaid County of the other part . . .John Shiflet and Joice Shiflet his wife . . . sold . . .one Certain Tract of Parcel of land containing Thirty five acres more or less lying and being in Albemarle County & is bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at an old field back of the said John Shiflets apple orchard on a Locust tree on the path that leads from Shiflets to David Spradlings thence running a South corse [sic] to Rowland Horsleys line to a white oak. Thence running up Horsleys line to his corner Spanish Oak on the Road. Thence along the Road by Thomas Burtons down to the fork that makes round the lower side of the said John Shiflets fence to a small Red Oak Saplin, cornerring on the same.
