Comments: This is a record from a cemetery located at Applegrove WV. This is a small town on the Ohio River in Mason County. Beale Chapel Cemetery Applegrove WV Myria S Brown abt. 1830 m/ Byrd Tyler Daniel dau. of Mordecai Brown and Sarah Shifflet. Anyone with any information on the Browns, please contact Julia Crosswell.

Marriage Bond information: Sarah Shiflett m. Mordica Brown 21 Jul 1824, sur Joel Shiflett who also affirms Sarah over 21 wit Ira Garrett.

Minister's return was probably 23 July. This marriage is filed in both Albemarle and Orange Co.

May 1890, CA bur. Lawrence Co., OH. 1860 census shows Byrd in Sperryville, Rappahannock Co., VA. From William and Mary Quarterly: Byrd Tyler Daniel s/o John T. Daniel b. 1807 of Stafford and Rappahannock counties, d. bef. 21 May 1842; m.c. 1833 Harriet Washington Fitzhugh b. 18 Mar 1814, d/o John Bolling Stith Fitzhugh. There was also another son, Bolling Daniel. Harriet Fitzhugh Daniel m. 2) Oliver Yowell of Rappahannock Co. VA bef. 6 Jun 1845, when she is grantor on a deed to Byrd Tyler Daniel (Rappahannock Co. Deed Book F, p. 249). Byrd Tyler Daniel is listed on the 1850 Rappahannock census as age 14, living with his mother and step-father.
