EMMA FRANCES MOUBRAY
Emma Frances Moubray, 93, of Orange, formerly of Gordonsville, died Saturday,
Jan. 7, 2006, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. She was
born Oct. 18, 1912, in Greene County and was a daughter of the late James Lewis
Moubray and Myrtle Crawford Moubray. She was married to the late, Charlie Newton
Moubray and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Greene County.
Mrs. Moubray is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Boardman and her husband,
Gerald, of Gordonsville; two sons, Delma Moubray and his wife, Audrey, of Orange
and Charles "Wilson" Moubray and his wife, Rosamond, of Gordonsville;
son-in-law, Kenneth Hahn, of Orange; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren;
and three great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by four
brothers; Kays Moubray, Eugene Moubray, Cary Moubray, and Floyd Moubray; and
four sisters, Mary Jane Brookman, Rena Crawford, Minnie Fincham and Madie
Brookman. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at
the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel, in Gordonsville, with interment in Maplewood
Cemetery. The Rev. Carmon Hartsfield will officiate. The family will receive
friends 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday evening, at the funeral home.

GEORGE VALENTINE MOUBRAY
George Valentine Moubray, of Richmond and formerly of Orange County, died
Monday, July 9, 2001, at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond. He was born Feb.
14, 1918, in Orange County, son of the late George and Sadie Moubray. Mr.
Moubray served in World War II in the Army Infantry Division, and was a retired
heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He was married to the late Nora
Elizabeth Moubray. Mr. Moubray is survived by one daughter, Shirley Jean Rouse
of Fredericksburg; three grandchildren, Cheryl Hattorf of Montpelier, Frankie
"Cookie" Armstrong of Ashland, and William Rouse of Fredericksburg; and four
great-grandchildren, Sara and Travis Hattorf, and Amy and Taylor Armstrong.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel
in Gordonsville, with interment in Emmanuel Episcopal Cemetery in Rapidan. The
Rev. Carmon Hartsfield will conduct the service. Pallbearers will be Wayne
Morris, Richard Isabell, Otis Brookman, Perry Hattorf, David Armstrong and
Wilson Moubray. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Orange County Rescue

JOHN FRANKLIN MOUBRAY
DEATH OF J. F. MOUBRAY
J. Frank Moubray, aged 51 years, died yesterday afternoon about 2:00 o'clock, at
his home on South Main Street, Following a three day's illness from pneumonia.
For the past several years, Mr. Moubray had been employed as machinist at the
Wise Brothers Shoe Factory. Surviving are: his wife who was Miss Minnie
Shifflett; two sons, Theodore and Kingsley; four brothers L. O. of Hinton; S. L.
of Brooklyn, Iowa; Paul F., and Gloss H., both of Harrisonburg; two sisters,
Mrs. Floyd Bowman of Bristow and Mrs. Frank Dove, of Harrisonburg. Funeral
services will be conducted from the Donovan Memorial U. B. Church, Singers Glen.
Saturday morning, at 11:00 o'clock, by his pastor, Dr. W. F. Gruver, assisted by
Rev. G. B. Fadley and Rev. V. H. Persons. Interment will be in the Singers Glen
Cemetery. Burial services will be in charge of the Loyal Order of Moose.
Honorary pallbearers; Shelf Devier, E. J. Lonergan, Hugh Fravel, James Heaton,
Larkin Long and William *haler. Active pallbearers J. H. Bruce, Edward Peluso,

MARY JUANITA MOUBRAY SHIFFLETT
Mary Juanita Shifflett, 64, of Stanardsville, died Sunday, Oct 3, 1999, at the
University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born Oct 7, 1934, in Rockingham
County, a daughter of the late Bernard and Lizzie Shifflett Moubray. She is
survived by her husband of 45 years Clarence W. Shifflett, Sr.; a daughter Cindy
Shifflett and her Husband Donald; a son C. W. Shifflett, Jr., and his wife
Janice; two granddaughters, Amber Nicole whom she raised and to whom she devoted
her life and Anna Nicole with whom she got to share three months and a grandson
whom she cherished, Harry Lee, all of Stanardsville; two brothers, Leonard Ray
Moubray of Louisa and Willard Moubray of Elkton; and five sisters, Lena Mae
Cubbage of Shenandoah, Eva Morris and Frances Sims of Stanardsville, Elizabeth
Comer of Elkton and Faye M. Cason of Charlottesville. She was preceded in death
by two granddaughters, whom she raised, Chanda Marie and Susan Rae; and three
brothers, Vernon Moubray, Frank Moubray, and Billy Moubray. A funeral service
will be conducted at 2 p. m. Wednesday at Ryan Funeral Chapel in Quinque, with
interment in the family cemetery on Pocosan Mountain. The Rev. James Woods will
officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p. m. Tuesday at the
funeral home.

MRS. JAMES MOUBRAY
GORDONSVILLE - Mrs. James Moubray, 79, died Sunday at her home in Gordonsville,
leaving survivors numbering nearly twice her age, she has 148 direct
descendants. She was the former Myrta Crawford, daughter of the late Robert and
Josephine Morris Crawford. She was born in Greene County, Sept. 27, 1879. her
husband died in 1955. She leaves four sons, Kays Moubray of Thelma, Eugene
Moubray of Orange, Cary Moubray of Woodberry Forest, and Floyd Moubray of
Shelby; five daughters, Mrs. Charlie Fincham and Mrs. Charlie Moubray, both of
Gordonsville, Mrs. Cammie Brookman and Mrs. Beverly Crawford, both of Orange,
and Mrs. Aubrey Brookman of Oak Park; 52 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren
and a great-great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow
at Gordonsville Baptist Church, with burial in Maplewood Cemetery there.

ROSA MOUBRAY HAHN
Rosa Moubray Hahn, 69, of Orange died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at the Martha
Jefferson Hospital. Born on June 4, 1936, in Orange County, she was the daughter
of the late Charlie Newton Moubray. She was a member of Blue Run Baptist Church
and employed at the Orange Country Nursing Home. Survived by her mother, Emma
Frances Moubray of Orange, and her husband, Kenneth William Hahn, of Orange; a
daughter, Bonnie H. Foster and her husband, Troy, of Orange; sons, Kenneth
William "Billy" Hahn Jr, and his wife Teresa, of Madison, Kevin Wayne Hahn Sr.,
and his wife, Jackie, of Orange; brothers, Charles Wilson Moubray and his wife,
Rosemond, of Gordonsville, Delma Franklin Moubray and his wife Audrey; a sister,
Dorothy Boardman and her husband, Gerald, of Gordonsville; grandchildren, Amanda
Lynn Richards, Brian Foster, Kenneth Wayne "K.W." Hahn, Kevin Wayne "K.H." Hahn
Jr. and Justin Michael Hahn; great-grandchildren, Brian Michael Foster and
Hannah Lynn Richards. Funeral services will be held at 2: 30 p.m. Monday Nov. 7,
2005, at the Preddy Funeral Home Orange, with interment to follow at Graham
Cemetery. The Rev. John Edwards will officiate. The family will receive friend 7
to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at the funeral home 250 West Main Orange.

MOUBRAY, VIRGE MILLARD age 86 yrs. of Elkton died 28 Jan 1998 at Rockingham
Memorial Hospital. Born 18 Sep 1911 in Rockingham Co. son of the late Jacob
Jasper & Lilly Williams Moubray. Married 17 Dec 1935 Virginia Marie Merica who
died 12 Apr 1997. Sons, Oliver & Carroll Moubray both of McGaheysville.
Brothers, Charlie & Onnie Moubray both of Elkton. Sisters, Mattie Moubray, Eula
Breeden & Bonnie Vires all of Elkton & Leona Riddle of York, Pa. 8 grandchildren
including Randy Moubray of Shenandoah. 12 great grandchildren. Burial in
Koontz's Cemetery.

Memorial Hospital. Born 02 Jun 1916 in Page Co., daughter of the late John and
Essie Baker Merica. Married 17 Dec 1935 Virgie Millard Moubray. Sons, Oliver &
Carroll Moubray both of Elkton & Kenneth Moubray of McGaheysville. Sisters,
Madie Williams, Mabel Anderson & Daisy Meadows all of Elkton & Wanda Cochran of

WILLARD SEBASTIAN MOUBRAY
Willard Sebastian Moubeary (Moubray), 84, of Redbrush Road, Elkton, died Friday,
Aug. 12, 2005, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health
for the past two and a half years. Mr. Moubeary was born April 5, 1921, in
Rockingham County and was the son of the late Bernard W. and Lizzy A. Shifflett
Moubray. He attended Blose and Fox Mountain schools in his youth. He served in
World War II, where he was stationed in the Philippines and was honorably
discharged in November 1946. He worked for the Department of Interior,
Shenandoah Park Services, where he retired in April 1986. On June 8, 1940, he
married the former Edith M. Dean; she survives. Also surviving are two sons,
Gerald (Jerry) and Keith Moubray, all of Elkton; six daughters, Judy Sellers,
Juanita Lam, Janice Campbell, Nancy Meadows and Joan Cave, all of Elkton, and
Debbie Moubray of Harrisonburg; a brother, Leonard Moubray of Bumpass; four
sisters, Elizabeth Comer of Elkton, Eva Morris of Stanardsville, Faye Cason of
Charlottesville and Lena Cubbage of Shenandoah, 19 grandchildren, 16
great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. The Rev. Robert Buchanan
will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church
north of Elkton on Panorama Drive. Burial will be in the Elk Run Cemetery in
Elkton. His body will be taken to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where
family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Friends may also call at the
Moubeary home at any time. Arrangements are by Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.

Elkton, VA.
